ROOSEVELT INSTITUTE FOR AMERICAN STUDIES
INTERNATIONAL PH.D. SEMINAR
17-19 MAY, 2017
The Roosevelt Institute for American Studies (RIAS) is pleased to announce its 2017 International Ph.D. Seminar, a program specifically designed for doctoral students in U.S. history, politics, and culture.
This three-day workshop is specifically meant for European PhD students whose researches deal with any aspect of American history, politics, culture, and society, and it aims at providing them with a valuable opportunity to share their preliminary findings and most important insights with a community made of peers and established professors.
We ask interested Ph.D. students to submit their proposals (a 300-word abstract) no later than March 15, 2017. Please, send the applications to the RIAS Ph.D. seminar coordinator, Dario Fazzi, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The RIAS hosts up to two PhD students and one professor from each invited university, and it provides them with room and board in Middelburg for the duration of the whole seminar. Professors at each invited university are in the best position to pre-select up to two PhD students whose researches’ state-of-the-art is advanced enough to have a constructive and collegial discussion. The RIAS staff deals with the setting up of the program and the organization of the panel sessions. The date for this year’s program are May 17-19.
If you are interested in participating in this program, please find here the Call for Papers, which you can circulate among PhD students at your university. Students will be asked to submit their papers in advance, so that each participant will have the time to read them and use them as a base upon which to build an informative discussion.
